L.C. Gipson

Hello Everyone:
My name is L. C. Gipson #24074-077. I reside in Pollock, LA, USP (Unite States Penitentiary). I am a 51 years old man from Ft. Worth, Texas. I am currently serving 62 ½ years in federal prison for conspiracy, robbery and three stacked sentences of 924c; which is use or caring a firearm while committing a crime of violence or drug dealings. Please know that no one was hurt or in any way physically harmed in any of the charged crimes. The “stacked” 924c sentences total 45 years of the 62 ½ years that I am serving.
I’ve been incarcerated since 1993, at the age of 29. If not but for the “stacked” 924c sentence I would have been set free this year; however as it stands, I will die before I am released because I must serve another 40 years due to this 924c statue.
Since my sentencing, several people have been set FREE because the “stacked” sentencing of 924c charges have been deemed “unjust” by people like; Judge John Gleeson, of Federal District Court in Brooklyn, New York. The then United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York (now the United States Attorney General) Mrs. Loretta Lynch agreed with Judge Gleeson. Judge Gleeson in his appeal to Mrs. Lynch pointed out the fact that even the U.S. Sentencing Commission itself, in 2011, told Congress that “stacking “ is excessively severe and unjust.
I don’t argue that I am innocent. I am simply asking for the same MERCY that the Federal Government has shown other people who were in the same like situation that I am in. People like Francois Holloway, who after serving nearly two decades of a 57 year sentence was released on July 29, 2014, after being resentenced to “time served.” Then there is Marion Hungerford of Montana, who was initially sentenced to 159 years for her role in a string of robberies, was later resentenced to 7 years 9 months and Mr. Christopher Wayne Williams, also from Montana, who was facing a “minimum of 85 years for multiple drug and 924c convictions was sentenced to only 5 years. There are others as well, a Mr. Williams who I don’t have the complete information on.
I have been incarcerated for 22 years. I am 5l years old. If I am incarcerated to be punished, IS NOT 22 years enough time for that? Should I die in federal prison for robbery? There are people in prison for murder who will get out before I will. I carried a gun, but I did not kill anyone. I didn’t even shoot anyone.
I seek MERCY, and pray to be resentenced absent the “stacked” 924c sentence. Please support this movement, MERCY ME 924c and help us seek justice in our sentence.
